About Erik R. Jensen: Erik started playing music at age 6. I thought he was aspiring to be a bass player like his dad, but told me he wanted to play guitar, so I handed him my acoustic guitar and a how-to book and said “go for it.” Without any instruction, he found a website that taught him the chords for Green Day’s “Time of your life” and in 1 rainy afternoon was able to play it all the way through. I knew right then that he had a great musical gift. He progressed steadily, teaching himself for a while and when I saw he was dedicated to learning the guitar, I started him in lessons with Jeff Moore. He took off and thanks to the foundation Jeff laid, he has great skill and touch with his playing. Erik transposed what he learned on guitar over to keyboards and began writing more music. He has since taught himself, Ukulele, upright bass and to play his family heirloom Hammond B3 Organ. He had great percussion instruction from Dennis Rota and plays some of the drum tracks on his CD himself. Erik was invited to play with Jerome Dawson & Wazabe Blue after showing his guitar prowess at one of their rehearsals. Now he has an open invitation to sit in with the band and at his last show got a standing ovation for his guitar work on Stormy Monday by the Wazabe Blue fans. Erik writes, arranges, plays and records all his songs at home in our small make shift studio. He has also begun to add lyrics and vocals to his compositions, now that his adolescent voice is cooperating and his lead track “Black Crow” gives the listener a taste of his lyrical ability, which will likely expand on subsequent albums. Erik is a natural musician who creates melodies that stick in your brain and truly he understands how to structure a song, far beyond his 15 years. He does all this while being a freshman in high school, getting good grades, being on the water polo & swim teams and being a good kid. It is truly my pleasure to have been able to support him in producing this debut album, which I know is only the tip of his musical iceberg. Go Fluffy! Reece C. Jensen (Dad & bass player)
